Pastor Victor N. Vinson accepted his call to
ministry in September 2003 while incarcerated in Arkansas in the Arkansas
Correctional Facility. Upon release he began to serve at his home church New Zion
Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky under the leadership of Reverend Dr. A.
Russell Awkard. Victor was licensed in November 2, 2005 by Dr. A. Russell Awkard
and began serving as an associate minister and assisted with teaching youth
ministry. May 20, 2006 Pastor Vinson married the former Pamela D. Wilson
where he then joined his wife at First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown under the
leadership of Pastor Kevin Nelson where he led Men’s Bible Study and served on
Prison ministry until 2009. In August of 2009 Pastor Vinson began to serve at
Canaan Christian Church, in Louisville, Kentucky, under the leadership of Dr.
Walter Malone Jr. who is his current pastor and Spiritual Father in ministry.  He
was licensed and ordained by Dr. Walter Malone Jr. in 2013.  Pastor Victor Vinson
served as Evangelism leader, Sunday school teacher, conference facilitator, co-
leader of Administration for Men of Covenant, Prison Ministry leader, and
curriculum developer for Christian education.  He was called to pastor Gilt Edge

Baptist Church, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, in August 2013.  He was installed as the
new Pastor of Gilt Edge Baptist Church on October 6, 2013. Through his journey
Pastor Vinson graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science
in Pastoral Ministries in 2010 and a Master of Theology in 2012.  Victor was hired
as Admissions and Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator in 2011.
Since Pastor Vinson has become an adjunct Professor in the School of Theology at
Campbellsville University Louisville Center. Pastor Vinson is currently enrolled at
Bellarmine University pursuing his Ph.D of Leadership in Higher Education.
